Alberto Del Rio: The Right Superstar for WWE Right Now

Alberto Del Rio is back on the big stage of WWE and already some fans are complaining about it. That's to be expected of course, mostly because the shortsightedness that has plagued our end of the business for so long has indeed become a cancer.

It's a shame because if there's one guy that deserves this chance, it's Del Rio.

Truth be told, he doesn't really need WWE. Despite the feigned surprise relayed by Michael Cole in regards to Alberto's physical condition, the fact is he's stayed in shape for a reason. Del Rio's career didn't end when he left Vince McMahon's company.

Alberto can get work anywhere and he has. Lucha Underground benefitted from his presence and Johnny Mundo in particular has really never looked better. Del Rio proved that at age 38 he can still get it done and on a very high level.

He's good in the ring, he makes his opponents better and he is fully capable of having a five-star match with anyone on any given night. He's a veteran with an impressive resume behind him and he's good enough to carry any championship in the company.

Combine that with Cena's impending hiatus and you have the perfect recipe for WWE's next great star.

He's been there before, he knows what's expected of him and he will surely deliver every time his number is called. He is the man WWE needs right now to help fill the void left by its top money maker.

He can't do it alone of course; other guys will need to step up in order to keep WWE going and that should make for some intriguing match-ups.

Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, even Ryback, all could be on the list to face Del Rio. Dolph Ziggler is always an option, as their rivalry from before could be renewed. Then there's Seth Rollins, who could perhaps face Alberto at some point if his much anticipated face turn actually takes place.

There are many different roads to take with Del Rio and that's the best part.

WWE can get stale at times, there is no denying that. Alberto Del Rio is a familiar face but he can help liven things up again. The company needs him right now and if fans can see the bigger picture then that will become very clear very quickly.

But don't hold your breath; the cancer runs deep.

Del Rio doesn't deserve the hate leveled at him and he really never has. He's a great heel and WWE could always use more of those; they make the world go round and they provide drama like no one else can.

When he's on his game, he's one of the top guys and he's on his game all the time. He's in the best place he can possibly be right now and WWE will benefit from his return. They need him and he will definitely be up for the challenge.
