Brock Lesnar and Undertaker go to Hell

All hell is about to break loose.

The much anticipated rubber match between The Beast Incarnate and The Deadman was announced during WWE's Night of Champions event on September 20. The match will take place in the notorious Hell in a Cell on the pay-per-view of the same name as Brock and Taker will go to war one more time.

But is this the last time?

Fans knew this was coming. SummerSlam's ending was proof positive that nothing had been resolved as the match ended with more questions than answers. Why did Undertaker deliver yet another low blow? Was that a sign he couldn't defeat Lesnar in a straight up match?

More importantly, why was WWE insisting on heeling out Taker every time he came face-to-face with Lesnar?

No answers seemed readily available at the time and the only reason any of the controversy happened was due to the company setting up the third match. Brock and Undertaker needed a reason to keep fighting and a confusing finish at SummerSlam was it.

Hell in a Cell is The Undertaker's match. Much like the Bunkhouse Stampede was Dusty Rhodes' specialty, Taker is the best in his environment. It's never a good idea to bet against The Deadman when the demonic structure is up and maybe that's what WWE is leading to now.

Maybe The Undertaker is sending Brock Lesnar to his final rest.

What else makes sense at this point? Does anyone truly believe WWE's most popular performer of all time will do the job in the end? An Undertaker loss at Hell in a Cell would be utter defeat for his character, a complete admission that he is just incapable of beating perhaps his most hated rival.

Brock Lesnar would truly be the man that slayed the dragon.

Ending the undefeated streak was huge. That moment alone was enough to define Lesnar's career. But if he beat The Deadman in his own domain, after a match in which Taker never should have won? It would be clear to everyone that Brock is indeed the better man.

Is it possible WWE will allow that to happen?

Most fans would likely say no, but the truth is that's what seems to be happening. Lesnar is consistently behind the eight ball like a babyface would be and Undertaker is taking cheap shots to win like a heel would. The set-up here is for the face to go over.

This has to be one of the more curious bits of booking fans have seen in a very long time. It's illogical, it's confusing and it's unpredictable. There's really no way to know what's going to happen here and WWE is doing an excellent job of playing it close to the vest.

But has the company painted itself into a corner with this storyline? By switching it up and blurring the lines between heel and face, has WWE gone to a point of no return? Is it possible for Taker and Lesnar to reach a resolution here or will the feud never end like Dusty versus Ric or John Cena versus Randy Orton?

Despite what happens, Hell in a Cell should be a huge night for Undertaker and Brock Lesnar. Whether it will be the end however, remains to be seen.
