Bray Wyatt: No Gold Needed

It's good to be Bray Wyatt. Other than Seth Rollins, who else would you rather be right now? Seth has the belt and that's a cool gig but Bray? Bray is the coolest guy on the roster. And he has nothing but great promos along with a top notch character yet that's all he needs.

Why would he need anything else?

In an alternate reality that saw Roman Reigns go over at WrestleMania 31, Bray is currently the man stepping up to challenge for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He's the perfect foil for the big man, the one guy that could baby out Roman thanks to what he can do on the mic and in the ring.

And that Bray Wyatt will probably end up with the title at some point this year.

But this Bray Wyatt is currently in a holding pattern. Why? Because he just lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania. Now some will take the word "lost" from that sentence and hang onto it forever. Those people feel Bray has made no forward progress, that he should have won at Mania and we should all be talking about how he slayed the dragon then took his place.

But I'm not one of those people. Okay, maybe I am a little. But honestly there's no need to be.

Just sharing the same ring with The Deadman in 2015 is a major accomplishment all by itself. Taker would never work someone at this stage in his career unless he wanted to, unless something big would come from it. And he certainly wouldn't waste his time unless his opponent was something special.

Undertaker's stamp of approval still means something and the fact that he gave it to Bray means everything.

And right now fans are just waiting to see which Superstar Wyatt will target next. But it won't be Rollins, it won't be John Cena and it won't be Daniel Bryan. Each one of those guys has gold and the fact is Bray doesn't need it.

All Bray needs is the mic and your attention. He's gold fromt that point on.

Think about that. This is a man that has never held a title in WWE yet is still considered to be an attraction. He's not quite a main event guy yet his promos and his matches are among the most anticipated of the card. He's not in the world title hunt but he is still thought of as a player in the company.

And he does it all thanks to the character that only he could get over.

Much like Mark Calaway did with The Undertaker, Windham Rotunda is the only man to bring Bray Wyatt to life. In the hands of any other WWE Superstar, that gimmick would fall flat and disappear forever. But The Eater of Worlds we see before us is a phenom in his own right and he's only getting better.

Wyatt's legacy is growing and all he's done is out-talk and out-shine nearly everyone in the locker room to make it happen. The darkness, the hat and the fog is all Bray needs to set the tone. What he does from that point on is pure magic.

Most guys would kill to have the gifts Bray has. While others are likely looking in the mirror trying to nail a promo, Wyatt simply wakes up and becomes The Eater of Worlds. It's a seamless transition for him and one that only he can pull off.

He's got a character worthy of an Edgar Allan Poe novel. He has mic skills that put the best talkers in the business today to shame. And he has a presence that makes him The Undertaker of his generation. Bray Wyatt has it all and doesn't need an ounce of gold to make it happen.

It's definitely good to be Bray.
