Neville Takes Flight on WWE Raw

Neville has made his way from NXT to the bright lights of the main roster. Billed as "The man that gravity forgot," Neville is the latest NXT standout to debut on Monday Night Raw and even though others have done so with little success, hopes are high for him.

The fact is Neville has to make it. There's no other choice for him.

He is too good, too exciting in the ring and much too talented to show up and fail. He has a tremendous upside and by stepping through the ropes, he's already one of the more athletic Superstars in the Raw locker room.

Neville is the real deal in every way and this has to work. So why the pressure to succeed? Why the sense of urgency? It's because WWE does not have an impressive track record recently when it comes to bringing the NXT talent up to the main programs.

Bo Dallas came on with some promise but has been floundering for quite some time. The Ascension was supposed to be a throwback to the dominant tag teams of the 1980's but right now they look more like the Mulkey Brothers from the old NWA.

Then there's Emma.

Of course there are many great stories that are currently on the main roster. Rusev is a monster heel right now, Roman Reigns just worked the main event of WrestleMania 31 while Bray Wyatt went toe-to-toe with Undertaker on the same night and Seth Rollins is the new WWE World heavyweight champion. But it cannot stop there.

Neville is supposed to be the future. He is one of the NXT 5; alongside Sami Zayn, Hideo Itami, Kevin Owens and Finn Balor. He is supposed to be one of the guys that lead WWE into the next era. He has the perfect mix of athleticism, polished skills and showmanship to succeed on a very high level.

And that is exactly what he needs to do . But that all depends on if the booking is there.

WWE must be fully invested in Neville. We've seen it a thousand times before; a Superstar with a lot of potential explodes onto the scene and shows tremendous promise but struggles thanks to WWE's apparent inability to put them in the right place at the right time.

Neville needs to be used in the right way. Booking him against Seth Rollins on the April 6 eidition of Raw was a great move. The crowd was behind Neville and he got the chance to show off against the company's hottest talent. It was a good spot for him and now WWE needs to build on that.

Neville may be The man that gravity forgot but that doesn't mean we will. He's only just getting started.
